Birds, bikes and babies. At UCM, the three have a connection.
Strolling into work on her bike early last week, Ellis Dining Center employee Richanda Turner noticed something a little different with the bike rack.
Parking her bike in her usual spot on the south side of Ellis Hall, Turner said she came across a bird’s nest propped on a bike.
“It just amazes me,” she said. “I’ve never seen anything like that before.”
The robin has since laid four bright blue eggs, all of which Turner keeps an eye on before and after work.
“I don’t disturb her,” she said. “I don’t want her to think I’m trying to do something with her babies.”
The owner of the bike is unknown.
