I’m a senior anticipating to graduate this semester. On the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 25, I was involved in a car accident on U.S. 50 on my way home for Thanksgiving break. I was in the right lane and the other driver was in the left lane, and they attempted to change into the right lane, which caused me to veer off the road and into a ditch.
Although my car was totaled in the process, the damage could have been much worse had I been driving faster than 60 mph. I did sustain some bumps and bruises, but I didn’t have any broken bones and was able to walk on my own after the accident.
Prior to this accident, I wasn’t always the smartest driver but as a result, I’ve become a more alert driver. As Christmas break draws near, I urge everyone: students, staff and faculty, to drive safely and drive smart because you never know what could happen.
